Trialprint
Flexible Online Printing System for Trialpack Systems
Trialprint is a printing system for suitable for all Trialpack systems that permits printing on both sides of the blister cover foil of Pentapack CT and Klöckner Pentapack EAS type blister machines using thermal transfer printing technology.
The Trialprint printing system option allows flexible printing of information such as patient compliance instructions and investigator information on the full surface of both sides of the blister pack.
The printing system uses intermittent operation thermal transfer printers from Markem or Videojet with 300 dpi resolution. It is available in three configurations which can be combined:
- A printer to print on the outer side of the blister cover foil.
- A printer to print on the inner side of the blister cover foil for use with transparent forming material
- A printer to print on the outer side of the blister forming foil for use with coldform (alu-alu) material
- Sealing foil roll
- Inside printer clear film to print on the inner side of the blister cover foil for use with transparent forming material
- Outside printer to print on the outer side of the blister cover foil
- Outside side printer aluminium foil to print on the outer side of the blister forming foil for use with coldform (alu-alu) material
- Sealing station
- Forming film/foil roll
To print across the complete blister length printing is done during each blister machine index (blister row).
Trialprint system operation:
- The images are created with the print image editor module of the Trialpack Designer PC software
- When generating a production file the Trialpack Designer renders the image in the printers resolution and automatically splits the image in a bitmap file for each blister row
- The bitmap files are transferred to the robot controller together with the Production Data file
- The robot controller downloads the files to the printer controller when initialising the production run
- During production the system controller is calling up the downloaded images in the right sequence
The Trialpack Designer Print Image Editor is a function within the Trialpack Designer which is called up from the blister design screen.
It provides the ability to create and handle the following objects:
- Rectangle
- Circle (oval)
- Line
- Text module
- Import external picture, such as a logo
For the objects rectangle, circle (oval) and line it is possible to modify the line thickness and the fill pattern. It is also possible to rotate every single object in 90 deg increments.
